Description

Readers' Theater script for free: "Mother Goose Interrupted: This Little Piggy"

Readers' theater (also spelled "reader's theatre") is a terrific teaching tool for developing students' reading fluency, and students will enjoy this fast and funny readers' theater script that puts a new spin on Mother Goose's "This Little Piggy." In "Mother Goose Interrupted: This Little Piggy," Mother Goose is continually interrupted by five talking toes, each with its own, distinct personality.

The readers' theater script also includes a list of “Watch-out words!” This feature highlights challenging words students may need help with as they practice. These words also make terrific candidates for classroom vocabulary instruction.

Additionally, the script contains numerous bracketed prompts—hints like [shocked] or [interrupting] that help guide students’ expression as they practice and perform.
