What educators are saying

This game was so much fun to play in the lead up to Christmas. I later printed the images and put them onto a dice so that the students couldn't predict the outcome. I definitely recommend this resource.
My students go crazy for all the freeze game versions. I just use the one that is best for the occasion. Look the all up.

Description

This Christmas-themed printable freeze game is an awesome large group game for a winter music assembly, or to print and put in your sub tub! This is a fun game to play in music class as a brain break or with double classes because there are no subs! (non-locomotor) My students beg to play this game!

If you teach during the month of December, you know how crazy students can get! I teach this game just before Thanksgiving and then use it as a class reward during the holiday season.

Then, during our whole school sing-along assembly, we play this game to give everyone a good stretch break and to add a little fun in the middle of our assembly.

Not only do my kids beg me to play this game (which they have nick-named the "3-2-1-freeze game" and "the candy cane game"), it's a fantastic attention-getter!

After initially teaching this game, all I have to do is say, "Reindeer, Christmas Tree, Candy Cane, Freeze!" and my kids jump right into game mode. Even if we're not playing the game right then, my students stop what they're doing and freeze.

This game set includes flashcards, a version of the game to project on a whiteboard or screen, plus game instructions, picture examples and teaching suggestions.

This is a game that can be taught by any teacher - no prior musical knowledge is needed.

If you are a music teacher, there is a suggested instrumentation that can be used during class or assemblies, but is optional for game play.

Special Note: This is not a freeze dance; it is a freeze game. It has been described as a group "Rock-Paper-Scissors" type game. No additional recordings are needed.

COVID-19 Note: All these freeze games can be played without singing (with or without a chant), and are non-touching and non-locomotor. This game can be played virtually as well! (Have students step away from the camera when they are "out.")

Teachers like you are saying:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "My students would BEG to play this game!! They absolutely loved it as a brain break. I definitely need to buy other versions of this game!" - Katie S.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I loved using this resource as a brain break while practicing songs for the Christmas program. Now that we have returned from Christmas break, they keep asking to play it again! Even my 5th graders!" - Vannah C.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "My 5th graders loved playing this game! We did it on the last day of school before the break. It entertained them and held their attention great! Thank you!" - Alexa V.H.
