French Earth Day Package/Spring: Le jour de la terre, environnement & printemps

This file includes a French package for Earth Day, though it can also be used any time during the spring or during units about the environment and energy. The file includes 40 vocabulary cards related to Earth Day and the environment. It also includes 11 fun activities that students can complete during this unit. Please look at the preview for a more detailed look at most of the items included in the package.

The activities included are:

1) A contract students complete before starting the unit promising they will be good green citizens

2) Recyclable: Oui ou non? worksheet

3) Les 3 Rs: Je réduis quand..., Je réutilise quand..., Je recycle quand...

4) Mes actions (Students look at the impact their choices have on the environment)

5) La terre me donne (Ce que la terre me donne, Ce que la terre donne à la communauté, Ce que la terre donne aux animaux)

6) Si la terre pouvait parler

7) Poster activity to promote the 3Rs around the school

8) Je réutilise! Students are given various objects and they must find a way to reuse each object.

9) Fill in the blank poem "J'aime ma planète"

10) Panne d'électricité: Quoi faire? Students have to plan activities for a day without electricity.

11) Vocabulaire, dessin et définition

This is a great way to get students involved and aware about the environment. It also allows students to become more appreciative of what they have and make wiser choices. It is never too early to start talking about this.

This file is appropriate for Grades 2-6 French Immersion and Grades 4-6 French Core and Extended.
