A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is an investigative process which can be used to determine the function/communicative intent of challenging behaviors. The data you obtain during this assessment can be used as the basis for remediating challenging classroom behaviors. A Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) is the action plan that you create in order to address those behavioral concerns. It is individualized to the student’s needs, based on the function of that student’s behavior determined by the FBA.
