Description

These presentations are used to study the triangle. They will allow you and your children to:

  • construct triangles according to sides
  • construct triangles according to angles
  • construct the seven triangles of reality
  • explore true triangles
  • name the parts of a triangle
  • name the parts of a right-angled triangle
  • sensorially isolate the other parts of a right-angled triangle
  • sensorially identify the internal and external altitudes of triangles
  • sensorially identify the orthocenters of triangles
  • sensorially identify the internal and external orthocenters of triangles
  • sensorially identify the bisectors and incenters of triangles
  • identify the bisectors, incenters, and circles of triangles
  • sensorially and technically identify the circumcenters of triangles
  • sensorially identify the barycenters of triangles
  • identify the barycenters of triangles

This resource includes 15 presentations:

  • Detailed step-by-step presentation instructions
  • Step-by-step illustrations and photographs
  • The purpose, direct aim(s), indirect aim(s), control of error, and points of consciousness of presentations

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.
Classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size. Recognize right triangles as a category, and identify right triangles.
Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry.
Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., 𝘹-axis and 𝘹-coordinate, 𝘺-axis and 𝘺-coordinate).
