Description

These language arts activities go along with the book Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio. It is a great way to bring an election into your classroom!

This unit includes 10 activities which will engage students in the story while they learn about voting!

Students will make predictions, define election vocabulary, identify the characters, setting, and plot, compare and contrast, sort realistic and unrealistic promises, write their own campaign promises, take a survey, write an opinion, make a campaign poster, and vote for a candidate using the characters in the story.

Activity 1: make predictions

Activity 4: compare and contrast the characters

Activity 5: make a T-chart

Activity 6: sort realistic/unrealistic promises and write promises

Activity 7: take a class survey
