1) Introduction to Money and Finances Vocabulary and activities

(This is a quick review of identifying, writing and using Canadian coins. Cut out paper money that we will use throughout the year.)

2) Activity 1: Introduction to Money and Finances and the Canadian Coins.

Overall expectation: Identifying Canadian Coins Time: 50-65 minutes

The student identifies Canadian coins and makes money combinations to 60 cents.

3) Activity 2: Money exchange and combinations for $2 or 200 cents.

Overall expectation: Make an exchange for combinations of coins to $2.

The student plans, calculates and makes exchanges for various combinations of money to $2.

4) Google Slides Activity 1: Homework (Great for reviews of activities 1 and 2.)

Allows the parents to see what you are working on in class.)

5) Activity 3: Introduction to Canadian Bills and Exchange to $200.

Overall expectation: Make an exchange for combinations of whole bills to $200.

The student plans, calculates and makes exchanges for various combinations of money for whole numbers up to $200.

6) Google Slides Activity 3: Homework Buy Low! Sell High! Marketplace Game Practice

Allows the parents to see what you are working on in class and allows the students to practice how they are going to buy and sell their products.

7) Activity 4: Buy Low! Sell High! Marketplace Game.

Overall expectation: Plan, organize and strategies to buy and sell items for a profit.

The student plans, calculates and makes exchanges for various combinations of money for whole numbers up to $200.

8) Activity 5: My Pet Store Business.

Overall expectation: Plan, organize, strategies, and calculate profit or loss from buying and selling pet toys.

9) Activity 6: Money and Finances Review and Auction & Rewards.
