Description
Grant Proposal: Grant Proposal for Ar-kid-tecture using STEM activities.
Would you love to write a grant for your elementary classroom but just can’t seem to get started? This winning proposal may be just what you need to jumpstart your ability to plan, write, and carry-out an innovative teaching grant. Architecture offers a world of possibilities for classroom learning. This proposal was written for gifted and talented students in grades two through six but could be adapted as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) project for a variety of grade levels and ability groups. These unique activities give students opportunities to become apprentice architects as they explore the concepts of planning, designing, experimenting, and problem solving.
The components of the grant include:
• Title, Number of Students,
• Target Population, Amount of Funding
• A Project Summary
• The Goals and Purpose
• A Narrative Description of the Project
• Description of Events and Activities
• Collaboration with local, state, and/or
national organizations
• How I Budgeted the $336 to Fund the Project
• And More
Early in America’s history, many colonists built log cabins while magnificent cathedrals and splendid palaces were scattered across Europe. America's immigrants offered many architectural contributions, such as the French who used dormer windows, the Italians who integrated quoins, and the Dutch who added shutters for protection. A simple stroll in the neighborhood or a Sunday drive through town will never be the same once students gain an appreciation of the aesthetic beauty around them and understand the historical contribution of their forefathers.
This winning grant proposal can be used as a guide to jump-start many innovative ideas related to the cultural influence on American architecture.
