Grant Proposal: Grant Proposal for a School Wide Election Event -
Would you love to write a grant for your elementary classroom but just can’t seem to get started? This winning proposal may be just what you need to jump-start your ability to plan, write, and carry-out an innovative teaching grant. Gifted and Talented students, in grades 1-6, will plan, design, and implement an election simulation project which involves the entire student body. Student leaders will hone in on their debating skills as they audition for the role of mock candidates. Classrooms throughout the building, will buzz with excitement as kids move full speed ahead with activities, research, and the acquisition of concepts and skills which integrate many subjects and required objectives related to the election process.

Students will experience excellent sources of literature, interactive games, and lessons, which teach the fundamentals of electing a president and the rights and responsibilities of being a good citizen. Considering the importance of choosing the "right" leader, children develop skills of observation, reasoning, and critical thinking.
