Analyzing graphic novels? This is a print and go, step-by-step guide for close reading. This resource is for you if you want to jump right into analyzing pages or panels from a graphic novel, without spending much time introducing the terminology of visual texts.
This guided worksheet walks students through the steps needed to perform an analysis of a visual text. They will need to use their visual and critical literacy skills to understand all the visual and text clues.
You would need to just introduce some straightforward terminology as you are showing them the step by step instructions.

FYI Printing Hacks
- Once you have downloaded the PDF to your computer, then print from a PDF reader - do not print directly from the browser. In the printer dialogue box make sure the scale is set to "fit to page".
- I advise printing this resource on a large commercial printer rather than from a personal home printer. The small details & lines turn out more crisp & clear when printed directly from the file. They have a tendency to get blurry & misaligned when photocopied.
