What educators are saying

I always use a few of these real world problems to introduce quadratic functions, because each one is missing different parts of the problem for students to see all aspects of quadratic functions. Well made product!!!
I bought and used all 5 of these (Quadratic, Exponential, Linear, Standard Form, Inequalities). My students found this one, the Quadratic pages, to be the hardest. I will still use this one again next year because I love how this worksheet connects a real life scenario to a graph and an equation.

Description

Do your students need practice graphing real world quadratics? These multiple representation tasks help students see the connections between the equation, table of values, and graph.

Included are 5 different task sheets. The first 4 sheets each give:

  • a quadratic equation
  • a partially complete story
  • a space for students to fill in the vertex, y-intercept, and x-intercept
  • a table of values to fill in
  • a space for students to write and answer their own question about the relation

The 5th sheet is a challenge! It gives a partially complete equation and just enough information in the story to complete the rest.

These quadratic equation tasks will build the relationship between quadratic graphs, equations, tables, and the real world stories they represent.

A blank template is included as well so students can create their own quadratic relationship.

These tasks will get your students thinking about the meaning of each vertex and zero. These tasks can be used in many different ways, such as...

  • group work
  • centers
  • partner work
  • individual assessments

Sometimes I place them inside dry erase sleeves and let students use dry erase markers on each one.

Answer keys are included.
