What educators are saying

This was a great resource to supplement my lessons in graphing. The extra practice really helped reinforce the concepts for my 4th graders!
Used this as a review over graphs. I love the questions. They were able to have plenty of practice with this resource.

Description

This graphs & data file features a variety of resources for practicing reading graphs and representing data using bar graphs, line plots, and pictographs. The Common Core Standards covered include 2.MD.D.10.

There are 5 worksheets with various graphs and questions where students solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in the graphs.

There are also 2 activities where students will use data presented in a chart to make their own bar graph and line plot data representations and then answer questions related to the graphs.

There is 1 activity where students will conduct a class survey (vote) and use the information to make a bar graph and write what they notice about the data presented.

Also included are 20 graphing data task cards with a recording sheet. Charts, tally chart, pictograph, bar graphs, and line plots are included for practice. Perfect for centers!

Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
