First, students will read and answer critical-thinking questions to obtain historical context about the time period. They will then analyze several sources using a SOAPSTone activity to determine the Speaker, Occasion, Audience, Purpose, Subject, and Tone of each source. With the information they learned, they will write a paragraph answering the essential question, “What was the Cause of the Great Depression”.
