Interview an Adult, Focus on Growth Mindset:

"In a Growth Mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work - brains and talents are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment." ~Carol Dweck, 2015

This interview provides a platform for a meaningful conversation about Growth Mindset. As students listen to real-life examples of challenges, failures and overcoming both, my hope is they will be able to apply those patterns of growth mindset to their own lives.

Ideas for Interviews:

1. Students take the interviews home and choose any adult in their life to interview.

2. Use it at the start of school to both introduce Growth Mindset and introduce yourself... students take notes as they interview you.

3. Invite a teacher or staff member in for students to interview; principals love these opportunities!

4. Use this on a community day to foster meaningful conversations. Do you have a day when grandparents or parents join your class? Keep this activity on hand.

5. Go virtual - choose a scientist, community member or grandparent to do a virtual call with and have your class take turns asking the interview questions.
