About the Halloween Grammar & Language Task Cards

This set includes 64 Halloween-themed grammar and language task cards that cover 4 different grammar and language skills for 5th grade.

1. 16 task cards for coordinating conjunctions (L.5.1a)

2. 16 task cards for commas (in a series, with names, with tag questions, with introductory phrases) (L.5.2a-c)

3. 16 task cards for punctuating and capitalizing titles correctly (L.5.2d)

4. 16 task cards for identifying figurative language, including hyperboles, personification, metaphors, and similes (L.5.5a)

Use these Halloween grammar task cards for review skills, practice skills you are teaching in October, as an early finisher activity, in a literacy center, or as re-teaching for struggling students.

I have included the printable Halloween grammar task cards in two versions:

  • one set with colored graphics and a full colored background
  • one set with colored graphics but no background (the graphics can still be printed in grayscale)

Answer keys and recording sheets are included.

About the Digital Halloween Grammar and Language Task Cards

•The digital Halloween grammar activities are available for use with Google Slides. Click here for a step-by-step guide for assigning Google Slides in Google Classroom.

•Each digital Halloween activity includes a direction page.

•Recording sheets are not included since the students do all of the work on the slides.

*The content for the digital grammar slides is the SAME as the printable task cards. It has been modified for optimal digital use and engagement.

•For answer keys, please refer to the PDF.
