Muder at Monster Manor
A murder mystery is a great way to get students into the Halloween spirit. This activity uses tons of Halloween vocabulary, allows students to practice receptive communication, and it requires collaboration and communication to solve. It is a win, win for everyone involved.
How does it work? It is easy. There are 41 short clues created to lead students towards the guilty party. The teacher or students will record the clues and turn them into a QR code or shortened URL so students can view the videos and use their power of deduction to solve the case. The clue document can be accessed and is editable so you can add your own clues. The worksheets are images that can not be edited but can be used to type on.
If you don't have devices in the classroom, you can use the clue strips and have students sign them to each other (no prep).
This is a great activity for students to practice holiday terms. It makes an excellent sub-day activity.
