What educators are saying

My students love to practice their cursive writing. This is a great way to provide that practice with an educational basis.
Used to help students practice cursive writing while learning new facts. Students enjoyed reading and writing about different science topics.

Description

This packet provides cursive handwriting practice together with reading comprehension in a contextualized and meaningful way. Instead of practicing writing letters and words in isolation, this packet helps students review Social Studies content while improving their cursive handwriting skills.

There are 15 different topics and each topic is presented in two pages.

The SOCIAL STUDIES topics covered are:

  • The U.S. Flag
  • Wants and Needs
  • Continents
  • U.S. Presidents
  • Rules and Laws
  • Past and Present
  • Citizenship
  • The First Americans
  • Goods and Services
  • Maps
  • Oceans
  • George Washington
  • The Environment
  • US Symbols
  • Early Explorers

Students read and trace the informational passage first and are then required to complete sentences, do matching exercises, label pictures, draw, etc. using words presented in the passages and tracing again.

Please note that the handwriting work students are required to do in these worksheets, as shown in the preview, is mostly TRACING.

Please check preview to see examples of pages. If you are looking for more independent cursive writing check out my CURSIVE THROUGH CONTENT SERIES below.

Once students learn what they are expected to do, this pack can make a great center.
