What educators are saying

We love making birthday books for different school staff members (custodians, nurses, etc.). This resource is perfect for making our class book! Thank you
I love having my kids make birthday books! They come out so cute and I love the variety this has. I especially like that there's a blank option that I can use in the beginning of the year for when my kiddos aren't all writing on their own.

Description

Give your students a birthday card they can remember forever with this Happy Birthday Book. This collaborative class book is a great way to celebrate your student's special day and connect some important language arts standards too!

Use it as a class writing assignment, morning work or center activity and allow your class to put together a very special birthday memory book. For students with summer birthdays we celebrate "half birthdays" that way every student receives one. A great way to celebrate your Principal, Assistant Principal or other school staff birthdays. Simply choose the writing prompt or coloring page you want your students to complete.

While the class works on their page the Birthday Boy or Birthday Girl gets to color and decorate the cover! Not only is this great way to build community and relationships in the classroom, but I have had parents tell me, years later, this book was one their child still had and loved to read. A wonderful student birthday keepsake!

Happy Birthday Book Keepsake Birthday Card includes:

  • 2 cover choices
  • Each cover includes grade options for Pre-K, Kindergarten and _____ Grade
  • 4 Writing Prompt Choices
  • Each writing prompt includes primary lines, wide lines and standard lines
  • 1 Coloring Page with no writing needed - perfect for pre-writers

How to use the Happy Birthday Book:

  • Morning Work
  • Class Writing Activity
  • As part of the birthday celebration

I like to have students complete the page as part of their morning work routine because that gives me the rest of the day to put the book together. We present the book to the student at the end of the day. A great way to celebrate while still working important standards.

Add this special tradition to your class today!
