Description
Physically, this activity develops fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the use of tools.
Scientifically, Children will examine the parts of various herbs and decide which parts are OK for cutting. This means they will examine the properties of natural objects using their multisensory abilities, as well as follow the advice of the head gardener (you).
Cut herbs can be used for cooking, fresh or dried, for making potpourri, and also medicinally. Thereby connecting this activity to the daily life in multiple ways.
Depending on where you live, this activity can be done indoor or out, with herbs in pots or in the ground.
