High School Graduation Bundle- FIVE great resources! ALL you will need!

Assignment #1- Do not go gentle into that good night- Graduation activity- questions with key!

Do you have high school seniors preparing for graduation? This is an excellent poem for them to read prior to exiting high school!!

This assignment includes:

• The poem "do not go gentle into that good night" by Dylan Thomas
• 7 questions that ask students to both analyze the poem and connect the meaning to their own lives as they prepare for the next chapter.

Read the poem with the students, have them answer the questions independently or in pairs, then share out responses with the whole class. This will lead to an excellent class discussion.

Assignment #2- Graduation Speech Writing Activity

This product ask students to write a speech to address the current graduation class of high school, 25 years after their own graduation. In the speech students have to include:

• What was your senior year like? What challenges did you face?
• After graduation what steps did you take in terms of education and/or career?
• What personal accomplishments have you achieved? (perhaps: vacations, marriage, kids, pets)
• What are you most proud of? 
• Discuss the positive impact you have had in the world and/or your community.
• What advice do you offer to those who come after you?

Either print to use or share digitally, there is a space for typing!

The product from this assignment is inspiring, and a pleasure for students to write and share with their peers!

Assignment #3- Graduation Mix-Tape

Give your seniors a fun, reflective and high interest presentation to end their high school experience as they prepare for graduation.

This product includes

#1- Three page detailed assignment sheet

• Mixtape definition/description
• Detailed task
• Step #1- Table of questions to be answered in the presentation
• Step #2- Presentation, this includes space for student notes for creating/presenting
• Step #3- Mixtape reflection with specific questions for students to respond to after the presentations are complete

The assignment sheet is a ready to share Google Doc with space for students to respond to the reflection questions right on the sheet!

#2- 13 slide presentation

Slide 1- Instructions for the students on how to embed a video

Slide 2- A sample of how the presentation should look with my own video embedded and speaker notes so students know what is expected to be explained during the presentation

Slides 3-13 is a blank template for students to fill in with their own answers each slide (song title, artist, video and lyrics)

Share, let students work independently and you just facilitate their questions. The final product will be a well put together, thoughtful reflection that will create a joyful music and memory filled presentation- the perfect way to send off your seniors!

Assignment #4- Graduation Digital "one pager"

This assignment has two parts

Part One- The digital "one-pager"

Part Two- Written reflection to explain the images used in the "one-pager"

Included in this lesson

1- One Google Doc assignment sheet with clear instructions of both steps (2 pages)

2-Interactive Google Slides presentation that include the instructions broken up into steps, a template for students to create their digital "one-pager" (5 slides)

3- A space to write their reflection in the presentation

All you have to do is share a copy of the presentation for each student and let them create! No work on your end with an amazing creative product when completed!

This would make a wonderful final presentation in class prior to graduation.

Assignment #5- 1 Month of graduation do nows | bell ringers | closures

Celebrate your high school seniors graduation month with these awesome, engaging and reflective writing prompts, perfect to use for do nows, bell ringers, closures, super versatile!

• You can share the whole slide show for students to complete as a project
• You can share one a day as a "bell ringer" or a closure to your lesson
• Students can hand write responses in a journal OR use the text box space provided in each slide for their individual responses.
• You can share it once, have them work on it daily at the start of class and then grade it at the end of the month!
