Description

Oral tradition is essential to all societies. This is particularly important in societies where a large number people were not literate. The culture and traditions of most African civilizations was not carried on through a written language. The history and traditions of Africa were continued over the centuries, orally through storytellers and through performance by the entire village or tribe. The class will be divided in to groups of five or six who will write, design, and perform an African folk tale remix as the “Hip Hop Griot.”
