What educators are saying

Although I did not use this resource, I want to comment that it has several great activities. I was going to use it to round out a unit on Simple Machines and simply ran out of time at the end of the semeseter. i do plan to use it the next time I cover Simple Machines.. A great resource.
This was a great activity for before Christmas break! I am going to use this again next year but start it earlier so that we can perhaps build actual Rube Goldberg type machines to go with this!

Description

This was created for students to use at the end of a simple machine and force and motion unit. However you can use it as an introduction or just use pieces of the project. You can have students watch the whole movie or just the night of the attack.
The force and motion questions are created to go with the movie Home Alone

Viewing Guide:
While students are watching the
Movie have them track different
Simple machines on their tracker

Follow up questions, have students
Use their understanding of force and motion in order to explain how different
Events occurred in the film.

Project :

After watching the movie give students a chance to create their own traps for the Wet Bandits

Display Kevin’s Battle plan and work together whole class to make his map meet the rubric standards, or use the example to demonstrate requirements

Have students work independently
