What educators are saying

I used this resource for writing. Each day we researched the dinosaur we were righting about and then wrote information that we learned on the sheet. Students then drew and colored the dinosaur. It covered writing and research standards that we teach.
We love studying dinosaurs and this was a great addition to our unit. The kids wanted to try to draw every one of them!

Description

HOW TO DRAW: Dinosaur Directed Drawing is a set of drawing, writing and learning activites. The process of “directed drawing” is a fabulous activity for early learners, and is not just merely a way to practice following directions. It is a great opportunity to practice spatial awareness, and reinforce shape recognition. You can also practice using position words “below, above, next to, etc.” Finally, it builds self confidence as students practice their small motor skills.

It specifically addresses the Kindergarten common core math standards {K.G.B.6} Learning Objective: “I can name shapes” “I can use shapes to make other objects”.

Included are directions for 5 dinosaurs:

* Brontosaurus

* Stegosaurus

* Tyrannosaurus Rex

* Triceratops

* Pterodactyl

This packet includes 4 variations of each drawing to allow for differentiation.

* Drawing instructions with writing prompts

* Drawing instructions with blank lines

* Drawing instructions with poem and fun facts

* Drawing space with poem and blank writing lines

Finally, there is a bonus blank drawing sheet with blank writing lines.
