Description
Walks students through how to identity different types of equations and further once you have identified a type, a basic set of steps that will work every time to solve the equation type.
Contains Linear, Quadratic, higher degree Polynomial, absolute value, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic equation identification and how to solve. Has 3-4 example problems for each type of equation and the answer for each example.
ex.
Radical: Has x under a radical
3 examples problems of a radical equation and then
STEPS:
1. Isolate the Radical
2. Use the principle of powers to eliminate the radical.
3. Solve the resulting linear or polynomial equation.
4. CHECK, by plugging the answer(s) back into the original equation. REMEMBER you cannot find the even root of a negative number, as well as the fact that an even root will always have a positive output.
