What educators are saying

Well organized. The activities kept the students engaged and helped them better understand how population affects our resources.
The slideshow is great. I really liked the graphics because my students found them very interesting and were able to make the connections between population growth and use of resources. My students loved the simulation activity.

Teachers Love This Resource!❤️❤️❤️

Alicia ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Extremely Satisfied

This was not an easy standard to cover with students verbally. This resource was organized greatly and provided students with slides to see how the human population affects resources so students could better understand the topic.

Aileen ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Extremely Satisfied

This resource was perfect for looking at human population and resource use. My students were really engaged and we had great discussions. The unit is organized with just enough information and is not overwhelming. I can easily give this resource 5 stars!

This resource aligns with the following standards:

NGSS MS-ESS3-4 Construct an argument supported by evidence for how increases in human population and per-capita consumption of natural resources impact Earth’s systems. [Clarification Statement: Examples of evidence include grade-appropriate databases on human populations and the rates of consumption of food and natural resources (such as freshwater, mineral, and energy). Examples of impacts can include changes to the appearance, composition, and structure of Earth’s systems as well as the rates at which they change. The consequences of increases in human populations and consumption of natural resources are described by science, but science does not make the decisions for the actions society takes.

Utah SEEd Standard 8.4.2

Engage in an argument supported by evidence about the effect of per-capita consumption of natural resources on Earth's systems. Emphasize that these resources are limited and may be non-renewable. Examples of evidence include rates of consumption of food and natural resources such as freshwater, minerals, and energy sources. (ESS3.A, ESS3.C)
