Description

A 37 page of Emotional Support Therapy Journal just for you!

Improve your emotional health with this reflection therapy journal.

Whether in the classroom, at home, or throughout daily life, we are constantly faced with difficult situations that trigger emotional responses. Not just children — grown ups too! The difference is, adults often have years of experience developing self-regulation tools, whereas the emotional regulation skills of children are still blossoming.

Emotional self-regulation is an important life skill that doesn’t appear overnight; but with support, mindful practices and social-emotional learning activities (SEL), we can help children and adults develop strong emotional regulation skills to ensure they have good emotional health.

Emotional Health Therapy Activities are vital in developing the following;

Recognising emotions (personal and others)

Showing emotions and understand the meanings behind emotions

Developing empathy

Appropriately responding to emotions

Using tools to alter highly emotional states

Identifying and labelling emotions

Practicing problem-solving

Building stress tolerance

Developing coping skills

Adding in brain calming methods

Explicit reinforcement of desired emotional regulation behaviors

Journaling is a great way to improve your emotional health. This reflection journal will not only identify emotions, but to also process them can help you make sense of your feelings, identify them, understand where they originate, and learn how to best respond to them.

For example, if you feel nervous about talking to your employer about a raise in pay, journaling about it may help you recognize where that nervousness comes from. Once you’ve identified the source of your anxiety, you can decide ahead of time how to deal with it and the best approach to the positive outcome you want.

Journaling about your emotion can also help you better understand exactly what you’re feeling. With practice, you’ll be able to recognize, “I am angry” or “I am feeling fearful.” Once you understand your emotions, you can take the appropriate steps to deal with them in a helpful way.

When you spend time journaling to release emotions, you also have an opportunity to see a situation more clearly. Once you pour the rush of feelings into a journal, you can look back at your words to learn more about your actions and reactions. All of this can also help boost your emotional resilience.

This therapy journal will not only help you journal your feelings and emotions, but will also help you understand more about emotions and why you feel the way you feel. This will make your journalling more meaningful and beneficial.

Topics Covered - Emotions, Feelings & Emotions, Emotions Regulation, Emotional Dysregulation, The Stress Response, Brain Overload, Signs of Dysregulation, Strategies for Emotional Regulation, Identifying Triggers, Calming Strategies, Emotional Burnout, Self Care, Reflection Tools & Journalling Pages

Happy journalling x

Some back ground on me

I am a mother of daughter with ADHD and son who has Autism and we have experienced many hurdles and hard times over the years. The bullying my son experienced, when he was in primary school was next level and extremely traumatic for our whole family. This led to a massive deterioration of his mental health which and therefore my cup was empty as this was one of the hardest things I have ever endured and I hope no one experiences what we did - not ever!

Having high needs children, being a wife and a teacher meant I struggled with stress which often led to me not being able to control my emotions. I didn’t know what my emotional triggers were or my emotional needs were. And self care!!! I didn’t even know what that was let alone look after myself.

I always put myself last, which meant my cup was often empty and I was on edge. I know realise to be the best version of myself I needed to look after myself and give myself some love and self care for my emotional health.

I have created this emotional support and self care journal so people (parents, teachers, carers) can reflect on their emotional needs and out self care at the forefront of their minds.

I wish I had learnt about emotional support and self care earlier and I hope this helps you
