Description
This unit is titled "Imperial Russia & USSR 1855-1924 Bundle - 19 Products"
It includes 19 products. The unit begins with a lesson in which students create a museum of only 8 objects to describe Imperial Russia. After this there are interpretation lessons to ascertain how repressive and liberal Alexander II and Alexander III really were and if they are deserving of their reputations. The unit then progresses to explore the reasons for the 1905 Revolution with a highly detailed card sort activity before addressing different perspectives on the events of Bloody Sunday. There is then a road map activity to measure the extent of change in government between 1905-14 before the reasons for Russian failure in the First World War are investigated. We then do some causation in asking why the February Revolution took place before examining the successes and failures of the Provisional Government with a spectrum activity. There is then an interpretation lesson titled Rasputin: Holy Man or Mad Monk and an escape room lesson exploring his death. The unit then progresses to look at the importance of Lenin and the reasons for the success of the Bolsheviks in 1917 before another lesson which answers the question Why did the Reds win the Civil War? The unit concludes with a History Mystery on Princess Annastasia and a school report style review of Lenin's rule. I have also included a revision menu to help students preparing for examination success, as well as two books I have written which cover aspects of this unit. I hope your students enjoy these materials as much as mine do.
