Description

Inequalities practice is more engaging with color by number activities!

In this writing inequalities activity with print and digital options, students write and find 20 inequalities to match situations and graphs.

  • Students find the inequalities on the coloring sheet/section and color with the given color.
  • **Students need to be careful to really watch their signs before they color:-)

Check out the Preview and video demo above to see what's included and to see how the Google Slides version works (students will need to know how to use the "Fill color" feature).

Problems require students to:

  • Write an inequality given a word problem/situation
  • Write an inequality given the graph of the inequality

This easy-prep inequalities resource includes:

1) Two print versions:

Version A:

  • Problem sheet with 20 questions
  • Coloring sheet

Version B

  • Problem sheet with 20 questions (same types of questions as Version A)
  • Coloring sheet (less detailed)

2) One Google Slides version:

  • Same problems and same coloring as print Version A; problems and coloring are all on one slide
  • Students type their answers in the answer box
  • Students use the ‘Fill color’ bucket to color the shapes
  • Questions are not editable (they are in the background) but the shapes and numbers in the pattern ARE movable.
  • Link to Google Slides is after the print items in the PDF download.

3) Two coloring pages with no numbers, so students can color for fun, create their own color by numbers, or for you to create your own color by number activities for your classes.

What teachers are saying about this writing inequalities color by number resource:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I used this with a sub, as an intro to inequalities (review for my students from last year) and they loved it! They were able to figure it out on their own, without me there to guide them along the way."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I love the solve and color pages as an assessment. It allows students to see content in different formats. They can start with questions that they are comfortable with and build their confidence through the assignment.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“I loved this activity because it allowed my students to check their work as they moved through the page. I also liked that many of the answers were very similar, making students take their time and work carefully. Great product!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“I used this as a practice page for my resource math students in both 7th and 8th grade. They enjoyed the practice and they always love to color! This was a great activity and I will definitely use it again!”

Write an inequality of the form 𝘹 > 𝘤 or 𝘹 < 𝘤 to represent a constraint or condition in a real-world or mathematical problem. Recognize that inequalities of the form 𝘹 > 𝘤 or 𝘹 < 𝘤 have infinitely many solutions; represent solutions of such inequalities on number line diagrams.
Solve word problems leading to inequalities of the form 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 > 𝘳 or 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 < 𝘳, where 𝘱, 𝘲, and 𝘳 are specific rational numbers. Graph the solution set of the inequality and interpret it in the context of the problem. For example: As a salesperson, you are paid $50 per week plus $3 per sale. This week you want your pay to be at least $100. Write an inequality for the number of sales you need to make, and describe the solutions.
