    Mr. Hyde WANTED Poster

    Description

Do you want a hassle-free novel guide for The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Do you want a clean, uncluttered layout for your students?

Two Product Types in the Bundle:

    Anticipation Guide:

This is a pre-reading activity to use before beginning Robert Louis Stevenson's novel The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with students. This anticipation guide references themes and concepts that lie within the text of the work; this helps to motivate students to make meaning for themselves and connect with the text before and after reading. The bottom of the guide asks students to choose a statement they feel strongly about in order to consider both sides of an argument on the issue.

    Chapter Packs:

I developed these Chapter Packs to aid students in their comprehension of a novel by focusing on details from the plot before analyzing the bigger ideas in a text.

    • The COMPREHENSION QUESTIONS go in the order of the text and direct students to details that will help them understand what they are reading.
    • The LITERARY SKILL SHEET is for applying skills in these two chapters. This may be completed as a class or may be an enrichment exercise for students who require more intensive study.
    • The QUIZ is focused on details to assess whether students read the assigned section of the book.
    • A writing assessment on this section of the novel, the CONSTRUCTED RESPONSE QUESTION directs students back to the text to cite evidence to support their answer in a brief writing piece.
    • DIGITAL FILES: The digital files in this product are fillable Google Slides™️ that you can assign to students through an LMS (like Google Classroom). The blanks on the slides are a light, tinted color, so students can easily type in their answers.

    Final Test:

Assess student comprehension of the novel, focused on details to assess whether students have read and understand the book. This test is available in Google Docs ™️ and Google Forms ™️ to edit and administer. If you would like to edit or delete questions in either format to address your students’ needs, you can make changes on your electronic copies of the documents.

The test includes the following questions types:

    • 10 Quotation Identification (Who says it?)
    • 15 True/False Statements
    • 25 Multiple Choice
    • 10 Optional Short Answer/Discussion
