Description
This Reading Comprehension packet is ideal for use at the end of the year in kindergarten or the beginning of first grade.
Working through these passages, students who are reading at Guided Reading Level D (DRA Level 4) become skilled at comprehending simple passages and answering text-based questions.

Each page is ready for use with Easel by TpT™.
A full-color printable version is included.
An ink-saving black and white printable version has also been added.
Sixteen reading comprehension passages are included. With each passage, there is a worksheet consisting of four multiple choice questions.
As students find the evidence that supports their answers, they participate in their very first close reading lessons.
One page of written response activities also accompanies each reading passage. The written response pages include writing, labeling and/or fill in the blank activities.
With guided practice, kids quickly develop the skills they need to be successful reading these passages and independently answering the text-dependent questions.
These passages are based on common sight words. I have kids find and highlight selected sight words.
