What educators are saying

Students loved to use this to help guide them in their projects. It was easy for them to follow and there was plenty of questions to engage early finishers as well.

Description

Print and go! Working with the Lego WeDo 2.0 kits is amazing! The kits themselves are highly motivating and captivating. I created these packets to provide students structure, guidance, and accountability while constructing these incredible robots!

You could have students working in groups all on the same task or in centers. The packet includes a building background page and 3 task cards that can be used to guide students through centers. In addition to the 3 guided task cards is 1 challenge page. This challenge is optional but can be used for differentiated instruction, early finishers or extra credit.

At the end of the project, we discussed what surfaces were the most challenging. Then we applied all of our newly learned knowledge and had a Contest to see whose robot could pull the most weight on that surface! It was interesting to see which groups made special modifications to their robots based on the tests they conducted.

In addition to the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit, other materials needed are:

-weights-I use gram weights

-an incline for the robot to climb-an upside down paint tray, or wood with books under to create the incline

-smooth surface

-rug

You could have students working in groups all on the same task or in centers. The packet includes task cards that can be used to guide students through centers.

If you like this packet, it is part one of my bundles. It contains many more engaging lessons! Check it out at:
