What educators are saying

This was the perfect activity for Lent. I extended it by having students create their own Stations artwork accompanied by the Bible quotes.
I am currently using these slides during Lent to have students make a personal connection to the Stations of the Cross. Great resource!

Description

Lent Activity: Stations of the Cross:

The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross or Via Crucis, is a traditional Christian practice commemorating the events leading up to Jesus Christ's crucifixion and burial. It consists of 14 stations or stops that depict key moments from Jesus' journey to Calvary.

What makes this version different from other versions of the Stations of the Cross?

This resource is much more than the average Stations of the Cross designed for students to read through. This student-friendly version is focused on helping students understand the meaning of Lent and deepen their faith by personally connecting with Jesus's passion. It is written

There are two versions of this resource included:

✅ The original version in PowerPoint format. Each station is covered on two pages.

✅ The updated version includes some revisions to the reflections. In addition to the PowerPoint, a PDF version has been formatted with two stations to one page to make it easier to print as a booklet for students to record their reflections.

In both versions, each station features:

✅ An explanation of the events of each station

✅ A scripture verse that goes with the event

✅ A corresponding virtue

✅ A paragraph or two that associates the event with their own lives

✅ Leading questions that guide students to make personal connections through prayer.

This resource can be used in so many different ways year after year.

1. These can be used as "traditional" stations of the cross by providing each student with a printed copy. Different students read the different stations and a short guided meditation. Students then add their thoughts to each one.

2. You can assign the stations and have the students work independently to complete a few each day.

3. You can make copies of the revised edition's pdf for students to record their reflections.

4. You can project the slides (one a day) and have the students draw a picture and do a reflection in their religion notebooks for each station.

5. They can be used for school-wide stations of the cross activity where students read the station and reflection questions and then pause for the participants to think about the question before moving on.

This is also very teacher-friendly! It is guided for both student and teacher so teachers can confidently lead the students through this Lenten activity without additional prep.

What are teachers saying about this Stations of the Cross Lent activity?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I am a huge fan of this resource. I oftentimes teach religion, thinking, "How does this even apply to these students' lives?" Especially talking about the stations, I knew I wanted kids to be able to connect with their meaning so they weren't wondering why we needed to know them. I've used this as a packet for two years now with my 4th graders, and all the pages spark the coolest discussions. It's nice to understand the stations on a deeper level than just the14/15 events that happened the day Jesus was put to death. Thank you for this!"-Madeline J.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I LOVE this resource, and so did my students! They thought it was absolutely meaningful and said it helped them understand the stations of the cross much better. It's thoughtful and allows for a great conversation and insight into the stations."- Teresa W.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"This was an awesome resource for immediate use! You definitely can't go wrong with this! Thank you!"- Joy F.

❤️ This is one Lent activity I ALWAYS do with my students year after year because it connects them to Jesus, which is what it is all about! You will love the deep conversations that these meditations inspire. I can't wait to hear how this worked in your classroom.
