What educators are saying

I love this activity and the way it incorporates learning in a fun, engaging craft that students can take home. I used this during our insect unit and my students love it.
Loved making these in class while we were learning about bees! Turned out very cute. We enlarged them to make them easier for kindergarten to make.

Description

This hexagon-shaped, life cycle of a bee craft is a quick, easy and fun "print and go" activity your students (Pk-2nd) will really enjoy.

Teacher Comments:

  • “Fantastic resource!” “My students loved it.”
  • "Very hands on and engaging.”
  • “Super cute and easy to do!”

My students have a ton of fun studying about life cycles, which are a quick, easy and fun way for me to get a bit of science into our busy day.

Since the honeycomb shape is a hexagon, I decided to design some hexagon-themed, “life cycle of a honey bee” activities.

Being able to reinforce this often difficult shape, while learning some science is a double bonus.

More Teacher Comments:

  • "This resource has been great to reinforce the life cycle. We also struggle with remembering the hexagon and now they have a great connection, BEES!"

  • "I love the illustrations and how well put together this product is."
  • "Loved the different way of presenting the life cycle information. Facts were clear and the illustrations were wonderful."

The packet includes:

  • A hexagon fold-able, life cycle of a honey bee craft, with 2 options.

There are black & white templates for students, which come labeled & blank, as well as full-color options, so you can quickly & easily make an example to share.

  • A “Bee Life Cycle” poster
  • A colorful “Life Cycle of a Honey Bee” anchor chart, with matching “color & label me” black & white worksheets for students.

  • Colorful ordinal number, life cycle anchor chart, with matching color & label me black & white worksheets.
  • Color & identify the honey bee’s life cycle worksheet, with a matching “trace & write” option for younger students.

Teacher IDEA:

  • "I decided to put the lifecycle on a Popsicle stick for the TK kids. We physically acted out each stage of the bumble bee as we flipped through the illustrations. They were then able to take it home to teach it to their families, very fun!"

I’m Diane from Teach With Me, hoping you & your students enjoy this quickie bee life cycle craft.
