Description

Welcome to our interactive and engaging lesson on co-creating rules, expectations, logical consequences, and rewards. The creation of this class system will be just as much the students as it is you, with the aim of creating a happy and fair classroom for the whole school year!

In this dynamic session, we empower learners to shape their classroom environment by co-creating a set of guidelines that foster respect, responsibility, and accountability. Through lively discussions and hands-on activities, students will explore the concepts of natural and logical consequences, understanding the cause-and-effect relationships in their actions. Great for any grade with some easy adaptations!

Highlights of the lesson include:

  1. Co-Creation of Rules and Expectations: Together, we'll brainstorm and establish rules and expectations that reflect our shared values and goals for a positive learning environment.
  2. Understanding Logical Consequences: Through interactive discussions, students will differentiate between natural consequences (the direct result of an action) and logical consequences (intentional responses to behavior), grasping the importance of accountability and empathy.
  3. Activity/Game: Dive into a fun and thought-provoking activity where students will have the opportunity to choose logical consequences for various scenarios involving both peers and adults. This game encourages students to remember that they are not the only ones who get consequences - Everyone does, even adults with complete freedom!
  4. Practical Application: Students will apply their understanding by co-creating logical rewards for adhering to the established rules, fostering a sense of motivation and positive reinforcement within the classroom community.

With 48 slides, including a fully editable PowerPoint version as well as a PDF version, our lesson provides the flexibility to adapt and customize the material to suit the unique dynamics of your classroom.
