MATH CURSE Task Cards and Activity Packet

Engage your students this fun and challenging resource to supplement the book Math Curse, which emphasizes the idea that math is everywhere!

Ideas for classroom use:

• Print and cut out cards. Place each card on a separate desk around the classroom. Give each student a tracking sheet and a piece of scrap paper (provided in download). Have each student stand at a desk. Set a timer (for 1 minute) and have each student solve the math problem at the desk they are standing at. When the time is up, call “SCOOT!” and have the students move to the next desk and solve that card. When the students have moved to all the desks, have them check their answers against the answer key (provided).
• Divide the students into pairs/groups and display the task cards (PowerPoint provided in the download file). Have them work together to solve the problems.
