What educators are saying

This was a great resource! I could make custom practice spell cards that were engaging for my students and individualized.
Love the option of fonts. Great tool that I have been using to center Spanish centers. Amazing to have.

Description

There are so many activities you can do with Magnetic Letters and now you can create them yourself using these Magnetic Letter Fonts. These are "True Type Fonts" that you load onto your computer and then you can type with them in your word-processing programs. There are FIVE SETS of fonts included in this download so you can choose the one that works best for you.

Two fonts are included in each set (a total of 10 fonts): an OUTLINE version, and a solid/FILLED version.

Note: To make your letters red and blue as they shown in the images here, you will need to highlight your text and select the color(s) you want. I usually type everything in blue and go back and change the vowels to red.

  • The MagneticLettersAlphaMag fonts match the 1.5" tall magnetic letters "Alpha Magnets" made by Educational Insights. To see the Alpha Magnets click HERE and HERE.)

  • The MagneticLettersBritish fonts are modeled after the Alpha Magnets, but have the curved legs on the letters adfhiklmntu, as was requested by a teacher in Great Britain.

  • The MagneticLettersEasyRead fonts match the 1 11/16" tall magnetic letters "EZread" plastic letters from "Really Good Stuff." To see EZread letters click HERE and HERE. This set does not include numbers.

  • The MagLetJoyNote fonts match the "JoyNote" 1 3/4" foam magnetic letters made by JoyCat. To see JoyNote letters click HERE.

  • The MagLetLakeshore fonts match the 1.5" Lakeshore Learning Magnetic Letter Sets.To see Lakeshore Learning plastic magnetic letters click HERE (lowercase) and HERE (uppercase) and HERE (numbers.)

Now you can type out student names, spelling lists, sight words, etc. and have your students match the magnetic letters to the printed outline letters. Great for creating desk name-plates and word-based activity centers. Use this font to engage students who excel with hands-on learning.

Directions for loading the font onto your PC or MAC are included.

Directions for adjusting font size to match the letters are included.

Accent letters are included for Alpha Mags, British, and EZRead fonts along with a guide for typing accent letters and symbols using your numeric keypad.

With the EZread font, hand-written lowercase "g" is typed using the lowercase "g." The print-type lowercase "g" is typed using "&" (shift-7.)

The hand-written lowercase "a" is typed using the lowercase "a." The print-type "a" is typed using "@" (shift-2.)

For commercial and personal use.

*Note for MAC Users:

If you are using Office 11 for Mac, you may need to drag and drop the font to Windows Office Compatible collection in the Font Book to make it available to Microsoft Office.

*Please Note:

Google Docs is a cloud-based app that uses special web-based fonts. It is not possible to add custom fonts to Google Docs at this time.
