What educators are saying

The Make a Ten Cut & Glue Worksheets were a hit with my students! They thoroughly enjoyed these engaging activities, which helped reinforce the concept of making a ten in a fun and interactive way.
I love products in which students can practice academic skills and work on their fine motor as well.

Description

Differentiated Make a Ten Cut & Glue Worksheets! 36 fun, engaging, and kinesthetic worksheets in all! Three LEVELS to meet your students at their current levels of understanding.

Level 1 Worksheets: Students will cut & glue the missing addend to make each addition sentence equal to 10. They can use the ten frames as pictorial models to help them identify the missing part!

Level 2 Worksheets: Students will cut & glue to make tens. They will also color in the ten frame to show the 2 parts. They can use a pencil to shade some dots grey and leave others white, or they can use two colors.

Level 3 Worksheets: Students will cut & glue to make tens. They do not have a ten frame to model the addition problems. The problems are abstract instead of pictorial. The last pages invite them to create their own two parts to make tens!

Why Ten Frames?

Ten Frames help young math students visually see the 2 parts that combine to make ten. The more frequently students work with ten frames, the more they will build addition and subtraction fluency within 10. Hooray for ten frames!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record the answer with a drawing or equation.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.
