Description

"Making Inferences" Nonfiction Power Point
This colorful, thorough power point of (39 slides) deals with the Common Core Reading/Language Arts Standards (RL.6.1, RL.7.1, RL.8.1). It offers everything you’ll need for teaching “Making Inferences”: definitions, how to recognize inferences, examples of each of 6 uses for making an inference, two examples, and followed by 20 items students can answer on paper as you go through the power point and then swap and check. If you like, half of the items could be a test over “Making an Inference.” Answers are on a slide near the end and can be printed out for discussion as you go back through the slides.
The power point can be uploaded into ActivInspire for interactive usage. Have students use "pens" to circle answers rather than using paper at desks. It can also be used with cooperative groups.
I’ve used all “nonfiction” items on this power point. I’m developing another for “fiction.”
Please check out other power points, games, and activities mostly for middle school teachers. However, I now have several items for elementary including e-storybooks, ABC work, etc. Please visit Mama Flanders Store. Thanks and have a great day!
