Description
Decoding nonsense words is a skill that every student needs to practice. But practicing the same old flash cards can get boring. This activity aims to make decoding nonsense words fun and functional! Students get to read multisyllabic words that they already know, but can't read. This activity improves their confidence, all while giving them much needed practice. This is ideal for older students who are still struggling with basic phonics patterns and ELLs.
This is a GROWING BUNDLE! You get three editions of Making Sense of Nonsense now, and any future editions at no cost. The price of this bundle will increase as I add more editions. Planned editions include STEM words, verbs, and adjectives/adverbs. If you have a suggestion, please email me! ainsleelabs@gmail.com
*I have also included my Powerpoint template if you want to use your own set of words!

Teacher Rachelle had this feedback:
My student absolutely loved it! She asked if we could "learn this way again tomorrow" and she said, "I really like reading words this way!"
