Are you looking for no print digital resources to support social language, pragmatics, and social emotional learning? This deck focuses on making inferences with visual support. It is a good way to introduce the concept of making inferences and teach students how to support their answers with evidence by explaining their thinking. This is an important skill to learn both academically and socially. A variety of large photos and question prompts will guide your discussions as you talk about each situation. They will look for clues in the picture in order to recognize the context (Where are they? What season is it?), relationships (How do the people know each other?), and feelings in the picture scenes. They will learn to focus on nonverbal communication (body language, facial expressions) as they make inferences. They will be challenged to support they answers by answering the question, "How do you know?" or "How can you tell?". A sentence stem encourages them to use complete sentences ("I think.....because....."). This set of Boom cards could be used during distance learning, teletherapy, in person face to face therapy sessions, or even practice at home!
