What educators are saying

I have used these to extend learning and for early finishers to use. I love that there is no prep and that they encourage creative thinking
This is a great resource for emergency sub plans. I have also used many pages as warm ups with partners and for early finishers.

Description

You'll be ready for anything with this super-sized Math learning resource bundle, offering all the support you will need for creating sub plans and a sub binder and with a vast collection of independent assignments for your Math students that will provide you relief from planning stress for the whole school year!

Are you going to be absent from your Grade 5-9 Math classroom for several days or an even longer and indefinite period? Maybe you are you just tired of the standard skills' lessons in your class and looking to "spice things up"? Need individual or group activities for those inevitable "early-finishers" that we all seem to have in our middle grades math classes? This set of 80 "printable/no prep" Middle School-level creative resources and activities will work for any teacher, for an emergency sub folder, as a break from the regular day-to-day lessons in your class, or as meaningful and enjoyable work to be completed independently!

This is a teacher and student-friendly collection designed to make middle school math class simple for you to plan AND educational and motivating for your Grade 5-9 students! These NO PREP resources work with you there or with you gone and this could be the only supplemental resource you will ever need as a middle school math teacher! These 80 activities can be used individually, with partners, or in larger groups, and they require no special effort or skill for the regular classroom teacher or sub to implement. Each takes between 15-45 minutes to complete, depending on student ability and how the activity is used. Full answers are provided for all resources (except for a few of the activities with open-ended questions). Please download the PREVIEW to see the full Table of Contents (including best instructional setting and math skills practiced for each activity) and several samples from this resource!

I have included 80 different lengthy activities/printables in this bundle because we each have our own preferences as teachers when we are absent or need a break from the routine lesson. This collection gives you the ability to pick and choose exactly what works best for your Grade 5-9 class depending on what your students are currently learning, their ability levels, their interests, or based on what they have just finished studying. There are also plenty of "just plain fun" math printables and games that can be used at any time of the school year!

You can be sure your middle school students will be busy working on age-appropriate and captivating, creative math activities AND reviewing their basic skills, and isn’t that what we all want as math teachers?

I originally bought this to give myself options for emergency sub plans (and regular sub plans), but I have used some of them as creative alternatives to regular worksheets. Only had it for a few weeks, but I look forward to using this resource for a long time to come!

What a great package! Lots of practical choices to use with a substitute. My students were engaged and the substitute teacher left a thank you note for providing engaging, meaningful lessons. And, I didn't spend hours preparing for being out. Thanks so much. Worth every $.

This is a great resource ~ well worth the investment. It provides me with activities for both my advanced 6th and 8th grade math classes. Plus many challenging activities I can use even when I am not absent!

I love watching my students work on the Math Tasks at the beginning of your book. The mathematical conversations the activities create are amazing!

Best thing I have seen in a long time ... I had a 'where have you been all my life' moment when I saw it!

I have been looking for ideas for emergency sub plans that students and the sub can easily understand but will still challenge and engage the students! I agree that this is--hands down--the BEST sub-plan resource EVER!!!! Thank you SO much!!!

Your existence in this world has made my world a brighter place. There is no doubt about that. I'm not quite sure what I would have done with out a combination of emergency items from TPT for this spring. I needed 8 days of immediate 'go to' - and this made my day(s)!!

It is so challenging to find stand-alone math lessons to use in middle school for a sub day! I am so excited to put this in a folder and be ready to go!

Focused topics for use in classroom during an absence. I used this resource to fill my Math block for a one day absence. While organizing that day, I was able to photocopy multiple worksheets for use in my "sub tub". I know that if I am absent again, the math students will have plenty of work to keep them busy and on target with our curricular needs, not just busy work. This is one of my favorite resources since I started purchasing from TPT, years ago ;)

Well worth every penny! Why spend the time to make your own when for less than the price of a book you can have all these print-ready resources?

This is an amazing resource. I was out for one full week at the beginning of semester and this resource was a HUGE help. I have also printed and laminated some of the sheets and put them in a "Need something to do?" bin in my classroom. That way, I always have tasks at hand for those students who finish early, and because they're laminated, they can be reused again and again!

Love love LOVE this resource!!!! It has helped me out a whole heap! I have used some of the activities already and not for relief but just because I liked them! It's such a lifesaver!!!

I miss a lot of sessions for meetings and PD, so these are a great way to get kids involved in things more exciting than basic worksheets.

I'm even thinking these will be great for days that I'm just too tired to actually teach something new (come on, we all have those days!).

Great back up activities! Requires thought and not just mundane "worksheets".

A wonderful resource, much more engaging then the normal worksheets I have left for my students to do with the sub. Thank you so much for creating such a great resource!

My math department was over the moon about pre-made sub plans! Kept the students engaged and entertained while sub was there, with minimal questions from the students. Best part: you don't have to be a math teacher to understand the assignments, so all questions could be answered by the sub!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! This packet has saved me when my lessons run a little too short or I have a speedy worker! These are hard & the kids love them!!!! So worth the price too! Great find! :D

This is hands down, the very best sub-plan resource I have ever found--worth every penny.

The activities were clever, time consuming, and grade level appropriate! I loved them!

Such a creative set of plans that lets students think while you are away - not just do busy work.

There are so many options. It made creating my emergency sub plans so easy. I picked a few favorite pages that would be great for my 6th graders any time through out the year.
