What educators are saying

A great resource for teaching scale in geography. My students enjoyed completing the scale activity and displaying it in the classroom.
My students loved this resource!! They were so excited to complete this over 2 lessons. This was such an easy resource to use and i love how there were so many options to customise it yourself.

Description

This Australian Me on the Map resource is based on Joan Sweeney's book, Me on the Map. While this book is based on American Geography, it would be beneficial to read the book with the project, but it is not necessary. Students design a layered step book to represent their place on the map. You may then have them create an art project of themselves on the earth to match the cover of the book. It makes a great bulletin board display and is such a fun way to practice map skills!

This is an integrated language arts and social studies activity that I have designed and tested with both third and first graders. It was perfect for both and would work for all students between Kindergarten and Fifth Grade because it can easily be modified. You can instruct the students to simply illustrate each page in the step book as you guide them through it or you could have more advanced learners research and write about the location on each page.

The United States version of my Me on the Map Packet is my #1 best selling product of all time. I love knowing it is being used in so many classrooms, well...all over the map! By request, I have created this Australian Version for my friends Down Under. Please note this product is also available specifically for the United Kingdom, Canada, and the U.S..
