    This Social Studies Mega-Bundle contains:

    Five units for teaching about the regions of the United States:

    Each unit contains four separate files, for a total of twenty files in this collection. Each region includes a 6-page informational text packet that can be used as a "textbook chapter" when teaching about the region. While reading the complex text, your students will learn about the land, water, climate, products, natural resources, landmarks, and culture of the region. The informational text includes an Anticipation Guide with questions to be used as they read the text to guide their reading. Each region also includes a study guide to help them learn to label the states on a map, a 30 question quiz, and a fun "scrapbook" activity with a grading rubric. Study guides and tests now also include an optional page for the state capitals and the state abbreviations.

    Canada: Our Neighbor to the North Complete Unit with print and digital options

    Mexico: Our Neighbor to the South Complete Unit with print and digital options

    The Caribbean: Our Island Neighbors Complete Unit with print and digital options

Also, students will learn about natural, human, and capital resources, saving money, and earning and paying interest. They will compare the characteristics of currency from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The unit also includes a unit test and a study guide. There is a packet with an anticipation guide and questions to guide your students as they read each section of the informational packet. All answer keys are included. As your students read and learn about economics, they will complete 13 different foldable pieces to make a lapbook about economics. Lapbook pieces can also be used in a notebook. The unit also includes a unit test and a study guide. There is a packet with an anticipation guide and questions to guide your students as they read each section of the informational packet.     While these materials were written to correspond to Florida's Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for 3rd grade Social Studies when I couldn't find anything else appropriate for my students, these units are also perfect for 4th and 5th graders.

    Florida Sunshine State Standards Addressed:

    SS.3.G.2.1: Label the countries and commonwealths in North America (Canada, United States, Mexico) and in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico, Cuba, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica).

    SS.3.G.2.2: Identify the five regions of the United States.

    SS.3.G.2.3: Label the states in each of the five regions of the United States.

    SS.3.G.2.4: Describe the physical features of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.G.2.5: Identify natural and man-made landmarks in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.G.3.1: Describe the climate and vegetation in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.G.3.2: Describe the natural resources in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.G.4.1: Explain how the environment influences settlement patterns in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.G.4.2: Identify the cultures that have settled the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.E.1.4: Distinguish between currencies used in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

    SS.3.C.1.1: Explain the purpose and need for government

    SS.3.C.1.2: Describe how government gains its power from the people.

    SS.3.C.1.3: Explain how government was established through a written Constitution.

    SS.3.C.2.1: Identify group and individual actions of citizens that demonstrate civility, cooperations, volunteerism, and other civic virtues.

    SS.3.C.3.1: Identify the levels of government (local, state, federal)

    SS.3.C.3.3: Recognize that every state has a state constitution.
