    Description

Math stations are a great way to get students engaged as they move about the room and work collaboratively with their peers. Even when students are in middle school or the intermediate grades, they benefit from a variety of teaching strategies including the use of stations or centres!

But they are a lot of work to prepare! Let me do the work for you!

This bundle contains a PDF of 5 stations for each topic:

    1. Factors, Multiples, Prime & Composite (5 stations)
    2. Percent, Decimals, Fractions (5 stations)
    3. Adding & Subtracting Integers (5 stations)
    4. Area, Perimeter, & Volume of Right-Angle Shapes (5 stations)
    5. Early Algebra Concepts: Patterns, Expressions, Equations (5 stations)
    6. Statistics & Probability (5 stations)
    7. Ratios & Rates (5 stations)
    8. Geometry: Triangles (5 stations)
    9. Place Value: Millions to Millionths (5 stations)
    10. Fraction Operations (5 stations)

It also includes a FREE Math Journal Rubric to help assess your students' work on Station 5 (where they explain their thinking in words and pictures).

Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Apply the formulas 𝘝 = 𝘭 × 𝘸 × 𝘩 and 𝘝 = 𝘣 × 𝘩 for rectangular prisms to find volumes of right rectangular prisms with whole-number edge lengths in the context of solving real world and mathematical problems.
Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
Explain patterns in the number of zeros of the product when multiplying a number by powers of 10, and explain patterns in the placement of the decimal point when a decimal is multiplied or divided by a power of 10. Use whole-number exponents to denote powers of 10.
