What educators are saying

We use this to compare our reading of Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone to the movie! There are so many differences between the two that the kids really love finding all of them! Thank you for this resource to help us out along the way.
This was great! Everything was well put together and easy to understand! The use of class was really easy and we were able to have fun with it!

Description

Watching a movie doesn't have to be wasted time - these no prep activities will help your students think more critically when comparing and contrasting a book with its movie counterpart - as well as write an essay! Use these worksheets over and over again with ANY book that has a movie version. This is a great ending activity after completing a novel study.

The following is included in this compare and contrast books and movie resource:

  • 2 printables with questions for students to answer after reading the book but before watching the movie
  • a note taking sheet for students to use while they are watching the movie to prepare them to think about similarities and differences
  • 4 printables with questions and charts to fill out to compare the book with the movie
  • 9 pages of activities to help your students be successful in writing an essay that compares and contrasts the book with the movie. A scaffolded rough draft is provided for students that need it, allowing you to differentiate more easily.
  • 2 grading rubrics
