Multilingual Welcome, Hello & Happy New Year Posters for Classroom Decor Bundle

Use these 156 posters to say Hello, Welcome and Happy New Year in different languages to students and parents on school occasions throughout the year. The Welcome resource includes 65 posters, the Hello resource includes 61 posters and the Happy New Year resource includes posters in 30 languages. The most common languages spoken by students in American public schools are included plus English and other languages frequently heard in classrooms.

Use the Hello posters on the first day of school or to greet parents and the school community at school-wide events. Use the Welcome posters at open houses and parent conferences. Use the Happy New Year posters to welcome in the New Year with an international flavor. Your ELL students and their parents are sure to appreciate the effort you make to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere in your classroom and school with these multilingual signs. Your other students and parents will also appreciate your wish to make your classroom welcoming for all.

The posters have borders in 9 or 10 different colors and each poster measures 8.5" x 11" in size. Each resource contains a key that identifies all the languages. The Welcome and Hello resources also include a page listing the nations displayed on the posters. (The Happy New Year resource will eventually also include this page.)

On each poster, the flag of the country where the language is spoken is included in the upper left corner and the name of the language is in the lower right corner for quick and easy identification. The Welcome and Hello resources include 5 posters for Indigenous languages spoken in North and South America. For the Karen, Quechua, and Yucatec Maya language posters, because they are not countries and/or do not have their own flags, those posters show images of traditional textiles from those cultures instead. The Indigenous Australian language poster, Gubbi Gubbi, also has a gray border.

Pages listing each language included in the resources are provided. Pages listing all the nations included on the posters is also provided for the Welcome and Hello resources — please note that some countries have posters for more than one language. Posters with the flags of Central and South American countries where Spanish is spoken are included, too, since many students in U.S. schools come from that part of the world. A cover page that precedes the first of these countries is provided to help you organize these materials.
