Description
These two sets of Google slides and worksheets will help 5th Grade students practice multiplying decimals by powers of ten using exponents and gain fluency in multiplication patterns and powers of ten (x1, x10, x100, 1000 and x10,000). The activities are aligned to CCSS 5.NBT.A.2.

This set is designed to help students practice multiplying decimals to hundredths using the multiplication pattern x1, x10, x100, 1000 and x10,000 (without using exponential form). The aim of the activity is to help students understand the base 10 number system, and that each place value position is 10 times greater than its place to the right.
Two explanatory teaching slides are also placed at the beginning of the google slides and an example shown at the beginning of the set of worksheets to help promote independent learning.
