Music Symbols Name Tags - Instrumental Music & Choir *FOR MUSIC STANDS*
This product bundle contains unique music symbol nametags (IN COLOR AND B&W!), for both instrumental music students and choir students, that can easily be hung over their music stands. Just print, fold, and voila!
**These name tags are aligned with the current NATIONAL CORE ARTS STANDARDS and meet approximately nine (9) standards for grades 1-8!
This student nametag/graphic organizer enables teachers to quickly address students by name, starting on the first day of instruction. It also serves as an assessment tool. While roaming around the room, observe how quickly students are able to identify and point to each symbol. Teachers can also employ the "3, 2, 1, tell me!" technique. For example, "How many beats are in a whole note? 3, 2, 1, tell/show me!" This gives students time to think and accommodates students who work more slowly, giving them ample time to process the answers for themselves, and not rely on other students to provide the answer first. It will be obvious which students are falling behind and need more practice/tutoring.
One version includes “Ta’s and Ti’s” which are vocables commonly used to teach rhythms. I have extended these vocables to include “Too” for half notes and “Toh” for whole notes. On these longer notes I ask students to accent the pulse to help count the number of beats in each note.
The color versions are more attention-grabbing, but if one has to make large quantities of B&W copies, the grayscale versions look great as well, and provide students with an opportunity to color and personalize their own name tags.
