My Brother Sam is Dead Comprehensive Novel Study Guide

This was such a GREAT novel study to accompany my 5th grade social studies unit on the American Revolution. The activities and assessments in this guide are everything you need to conduct a fun & informative novel study chock-full of critical thinking! Included in the 160+ page guide are:

I broke the novel into 12 sections. The novel has 14 chapters and an epilogue, but I combined a couple of the shorter chapters. Check out the preview to see ALL of the goodies in Section 1!!! I used this novel with my 5th graders and it was challenging, but totally doable! It would be a great middle school novel, but it is so ENGAGING that my students were hooked from day one, even my below-level readers!
