I know your students will absolutely love this movie version of the beloved Broadway musical, "Into the Woods."
How do I know this? Because every year this musical is an essential part of my own students' music education. They look forward to it with great anticipation and are enthralled throughout the viewing of the musical.
This movie guide was created to be used with the 2014 movie version of "Into the Woods" starring James Corden, Anna Kendrick and Meryl Streep.
With so many characters and story lines, I have found it very important to engage my students in conversations about the show to aid in their understanding.
The 50 short answer questions are in chronological order. I usually review the movie guide before a class views the next installment of the movie. It's a great way for the students to remember where we left off during the previous class. We also end the class period discussing what happened in the story and this movie guide is awesome for focusing the attention of an entire class.
"Into the Woods" is quite complicated because of the many characters and multiple storylines, however, this movie guide makes "Into the Woods" more accessible for my middle school students.
The students truly love this musical theater treasure. They are so excited to come to class to see what is going to happen next. It's also a great entry point to introduce the students to the Broadway legend, Stephen Sondheim.
I think this movie guide is a "must have" for any class who is viewing "Into the Woods."
